Shagnasty!

I'm not even sure this is a word at all, but rather a linking of two words to make one, comedic insult.

I first heard it years ago when I was a raw recruit in the army. I turned up for morning Muster and I wasn't too presentable.

The Platoon Sergeant stopped as he reached me and eyed me up and down. I was terrified. After inspecting me front and back he said;

'You look like two pounds of shite in a one pound bag! Shagnasty!'

It stuck and for the remainder of my training it became my nickname.

I felt horrendous.

If I hear it spoken today it takes me right back to the drill square.
