The Old Man is No Poet

I am no poet, The Old Man writes

but I like poems. They way they look

on the page. Occupy blank space.

He doesn't know fonts but likes some

better than others. And some just

annoy him for reasons he cannot explain

nor does he care to.

One font, he thinks. One good font.

Is that too much to ask?

It's like ointment. Why so many different kinds?

It confuses him. Too much.

I give up. Television may be garbage

but it doesn't stink. And Mannix is on.

I wish I had hair like Mannix.

And the women, especially the redheads.
