Shadows

Here the depths come

The shadows holler

Dragging me down through the ocean

to the bottom of the seas

Abandon ships

The bones of my body lay scattered

Submerged in frigid waters

the lights go out

I lay back with my arms stretched wide

Waiting for the sea to swallow me whole

Darkness enters

My body lay still on the sea floor

I give in to the shadows

What was once a void

Is now filled with water

Eyes wide open

I now see the light

Cleansed by the darkness I fought to contain
