The road grows ever longer

It's those long road trips 

with the windows down 

drivers license playing 

the summer beach hauls 

watermelon sugar and Starbucks 

flying kites

high, higher

it's the karaoke nights 

bops and drops 

and tired out voices 

it's getting lost at Disneyland 

and finding each other again 

laughing, 

flying 

it's being able to cry

and die a little inside

and they're still there 

it's inside jokes

and knowing 

they're just as crazy as me.
