Snow Dust

I see it just as I come around the bend,

gold shimmers and a cloud of sparkles

rises out of the trees twinkling like stars.

I stop to stare at the glistening light,

warmed by its glow I stretch out my arms

and for an instant I’m a child again watching

the snow fall, giggling at its touch, jumping

into its depths without a care in the world.

A long forgotten winter and snow dust crystallized into a perfect moment.
