Chloroform

She hyperventilates,

chloroform lingers inside her mind,

triggered by the scent of the sterilized hospital.

The nurses don't know what to do nor the doctors,

what is causing her PTSD,

this post traumatic trauma.

They know she was kidnapped,

beaten, bloodied, bruised.

Then they realize she can't help it.

The hospital smells of sterilizer,

which reminds her mind of the sickening, sleepy,

drug that separated her from her family,

the people that were in the building next door,

the morgue.
