A Prayer’s Journey

I cry my prayer

In a golden cup.

Watch the fire

Send it up.

Smokey tendrils

Turn and Twist

Push my prayer

Through the mighty mist.

Toward the Universe it drifts,

Through trembling and upheaval

To whisper in another realm,

“Deliver us from Evil.”
