did i tell you

my blues

were a part of your amaranth sky,

a long way back...

when the oceans were still full of hues

and not undercurrents of miserable plastic,

just like your plastic thoughts,

sinking deep under my skin

spreading like a transparent infection,

inflicting invisible pain?

no blood flowed

so you never saw red spilling out of my hands when I wrote.

each letter took one of my blue cells

and morphed it into memory.

your eyes were teal

with a hint of celeste

and i was innocent to believe

i’d heal in your poison tinged vision.

you made me see stars that never were

and when you went away

there was a void in my reality,

a palette of midnight blue

and pale phosphorescence,

with whispers of an indigo crack.
