Before you go

I know there’s little time –

100 years more

would be

too little,

but,

what we have

is quite a bit less;

so much more life

in memory

than awaiting.

I’m not complaining.

I am ever thankful

for every day

we have shared -

even the

shoot me please days

for they serve

to highlight

how strong,

how resilient,

how beautiful

is the love

we kindled –

against

quite a few odds –

with a shy smile

that sparked

an indelible connection,

so very long ago.

And here we are…

still.

A few more moments

with our hearts

our minds

our souls

in sync.
