Her soul was sunflower yellow, as bright as the sun,

It had a essence of vanilla, and freshly baked cookies,

Tasting like lemonade on a hot summer day,

It felt like warm clothes, just out of the dryer,

Listening to it, you could almost hear the birds chirping,

It was childhood

It was comfort

It was joy

Then, one day, it turned black.
