War

I lay my head down in hopes of a night of rest. From this infernal war with bipolar.

Feeling the morning sun on my face.

Dreading to open my eyes, knowing

it will be a war. Knowing my day will

be filled with so many urges. Going

from wanting death to the extreme

of wanting to feel the cold steel cutting

into my flesh to release the bipolar.

Just wanting to end this war of both sides

Fighting for victory over my soul.

I know the light is within my soul

Giving me the strength to fight

For victory over bipolar.
