I don’t know how to answer when people ask me if i’m okay.

how do I explain to them the after-effects of someone like you?

you’re like a crossword everyone tries to figure out.

you’re the artist that make the legendary anthems.

you’re the one that poets find hard to write about

you’re the dollar sign on everyone’s mind.

but I do know this:

when the cassette comes to a pause

angelic music will shut its jaws

I know you’ll charge at me with those golden painted claws

so when people ask me if I’m okay

the words that I want to say only come to betray

because even if I flip to the last page, your face comes to mind and sometimes I take it as a privilege.
