We had:
Bruised knees from bicycle rides
Reckless hairdos scarred by rushing winds
Matching bracelets and each other’s presence.
I had:
A bleeding heart and a loud mouth
To shout to you my secrets
So I could let down my stone-cold face.
We have:
Lost twin jewelry
A hurting friendship
With one side walking away.
I thought:
If we stayed friends
I would have a safeplace.
I really thought
You’d be the one keeping me sane.
