A Daughter’s Love

"We're gonna be alright!" Sharlet screamed over the rush of the wind around her. She had to take it upon herself to comfort the women crumpled at her feet- even though it was supposed to be the other way around.

"Sharlet," Elysabeth murmured into her daughter's ear. "Please, don't. I don't want the last thing to come out of your mouth to be a lie."

"But it isn't a lie," Sharlet vowed. "You have always said that your love for me makes everything okay- and my love does the same for you."
