from and for people I’ve helped

Dim lights and gentle chatter

drinks and laughter with my best friends

Bridal flowers and baby showers

and new family to welcome home

Cups and cups of tea

and piles and piles of books

Dancing in my room, at the club, on the street

Being held in the arms of those who love me
