Was it really sudden?

It happened suddenly,

Or so I thought...

She was there all of the time,

Just waiting in the wings.

As the days grew colder,

And the leaves began to die,

So too did the love we shared.

And then, there she was,

With her glistening grin.

You were blinded by her song.

And that is when I knew,

She had been there, ready to take you.

When I look back on those days,

I realize my mistake.

I trusted an old friend,

But her jealousy turned to deceit

And she won in the end.
