Gabriel looked up and his lips tagged into a wistful smile.

"Come on make a wish" someone said

The raven haired young man looked at the cupcake in front him, closed his eyes for a breath then blew out the candle with a trembling breath.

"What did you wish for?"

A tear finally escaped glassy eyes, as he took the a bite of the sweet pastry. He could hardly swallow it past the tightness in his throat. He looked at the empty room, a lone light bulb for company and whispered

"I wish that I wasn't alone anymore"
