Manhattan Heat

Cemented sidewalks are piping hot

I'll say the same for the parking lot

The air is thick and the breeze is warm

the sky is hazy; it's a summer rain storm

Central Park with its beautiful trees

offers relief with a cool summer breeze

But that is only if you remain on top

cause the heat is on at every train stop

Manhattan subways - tunnels of heat

Injured, old or pregnant, you still won't find a seat

Pushing your way into a crowded subway car

trapped like a sardine in a sticky, smelly jar

The heat is on, just ask a city mouse

He's roasting like a chicken inside your tiny house

Hanging out the window you're hoping for some air

the other guy has air conditioning, life is so unfair

Manhattan heat

It takes your breath away

Unless you're a millionaire

I suggest you stay away!
