Eternal

I would choose "eternal" to describe happiness because true happiness is forever. Happiness is always lingering underneath the surface if it's not on the surface. Even when you're upset, there is always a way to bring out your happiness because it was there the whole time—it was simply hidden by your other emotions. Over time it always reveals itself again, proving that happiness is eternal.
