Together Forever

Together, running against time.

That’s what we’re doing.

Transplants and medications,

Radiation and therapy,

All just buying time,

Time for us to be together.

But time is running out,

And now we can no longer hide or run.

It’s catching up with you,

That silent killer.

You told me to write an eulogy,

And I refused.

To write an eulogy would be to admit that

I’ve thought about a world without you,

A world without colours or joy.

You can’t lose hope.

If we can’t run together,

Then we have to hope together,

Forever.
