“So... My Dad’s an angel?” Angelo asked, frowning.
“Yes, a fallen angel to be more specific,” Zach answered, casually reading a book he’d picked up off of Gabriel’s table. “We’re not quite sure who it is yet, however.”
“That’s actually explains a lot,” Sal said, nodding. “His hair, his eyes, his name,”
“Seriously? Can’t a name JUST be a name?” Angelo growled, shooting a irritated glare at Sal, who just shrugged and giggled.
“Anyway,” Gabriel interjected, entering the room with even more books and some other things that looked very dangerous. Angelo wanted one. “Young Nephilim, how much did your mother tell you about yourself before she sent you to us?”
“Practically nothing. Just some weird lines about breaking dawn and a ‘Silver One’?”.” Angelo responded as Gabriel set the books down.
“The prophecy. She told you your prophecy.”
“Excuse me, my what now?”
“Why do you think Lucifer is trying to murder you? Also, why all the achangels decided not to smite you where you stood?”
“Because I’m infuriatingly awesome?”
“No, son of the fallen. Because of the prophecy.”
Gabriel then cleared his throat and repeated what Angelo’s mother had said, before she sent him away.
A young Nephilim, silver as the morning stars
Must reach those near and far
Son of the betrayer, ward of the Devil
Must save the Heavens from his revels
When dawn breaks on the coldest day
Everything will be burned away
Unless the Nephilim, the Silver One
Shines the light of the Golden Sun
Lucifer cowers before his might
The Nephilim who brings the light
The four teens were silent for a count of five.
“So, uh, that was interesting,” Anders coughed awkwardly, rubbing the back of his neck.
“Probably one of the more normal things I’ve heard today. Scratch that, this week.” Angelo shrugged, “But, that’s fine. Nothing like an ominus prophecy to bighten your day!”
“Angelo, I think you might have lost your marbles for good this time...” Matt told him, inhaling through his teeth.
“Nah, I’m fine! Just your average half-angel thing destined to save the world from Satan apparently!” Angelo grinned, clearly delirious and very much not okay. “Let’s go kill some demons, shall we?”
