Fire

This poem is directed towards someone I know and love personally

Everytime you look

I see that sparkle

Of hope

Of an idea

Of thoughts

So I always wonder

Why do I deserve

Your company

Your compliments

Your care

You always give

Never leaving anything

For yourself

And I fear

That I was the first to see

What's behind that glass mask

I thought that meant something

That I could help

In the end though

I made it worse

You got scared

That I made you see the truth

And pushed me away

I dont blame you

I'd be scared too

Now that we've gotten past that

I'm feeling a little happier

But we can never recreate

That fire

That friendship

That connection

Ever again

But I'm willing

To wait

For however long it takes

If it means

We can rekindle that lovely fire
