Alive

Light streamed by me as I rose. Rising, rising. I could see the wonders of the world from where I was.

Earth streched out in its wide expanse beneath me. It was all so beautiful. So beautiful.

And fading fast. Darkness rushed out from over the horizon, blotting out the sun. Spreading across the landscape, it neared me. Suddenly, I felt a lurch and I began falling. Falling. Falling. Falling.

"Doctor, she's awake!"

I was alive.
