Write from the perspective of Mother Nature viewing her ruined earth
I am doing a photography exhibition in Manchester City centre (UK) and want a poem that I will record being spoken to go alongside my photographs of moorland fires, the winner will have their work displayed at the exhibition and will be credited.

Mother Nature’s Plight

Scorched earth,

The plants that once

Took root there,

Burnt to nothing

The animals that once

Lived there, nesting families,

Driven to unfamiliar lands

Death, darkness, destruction,

All manner of cruelty

Orchestrated by man

Ruining my once

Beautiful lands,

They do so

Without reprimand

Tossing trash aside,

Polluting waters with filth,

Starting raging fires,

All a result of

Human laziness,

Sheer carelessness

These lands I once

Held such unwavering pride in,

Now I gaze upon them,

And see nothing

But distant memories

The resplendence of nature,

A long lost vision,

Never to be seen again

In the face of

Such a cruel reality,

I weep,

The tears never ending
