Write from the perspective of Mother Nature viewing her ruined earth
I am doing a photography exhibition in Manchester City centre (UK) and want a poem that I will record being spoken to go alongside my photographs of moorland fires, the winner will have their work displayed at the exhibition and will be credited.

Mother Nature’s Lament

From the sky I weep

For the world I love

That is burning before me

Defenseless as a dove

The world so strong

Has been brought to it's knees

By these limitless gases

Spreading like a disease

My child is in danger

The fires are the signs

Of something much worse

That is not of my design

Yet I can do nothing

I am but an observer

And the humans that can help?

They have run for cover

The humans, they continue

To harm their own home

And they will not stop

Until they are alone
