15: Eavesdropper

“You would not believe what that pesky little girl was doing to me.” Jane said, loud and clear for the entire neighborhood to hear, “She thought that I was some dog! Chasing me to know end. I was trying to eat one of those salty potato chips, and that blonde little girl just threw a rock at me. Then she ran at me. I flew away faster than you’d imagine.” Of course she would fly away, who wouldn’t?

“Jane, you’re crazy!” Pewter tweeted back, “Must’ve been a difficult flight up here.”

“You bet!”

“No…” April started to chuckle, “You were eating a salty potato chip, I bet you couldn’t get up in the sky!”

April started howling in laughter when Pewter joined in. Jane gave a hmph and used her blue jay wing to push April off the branch. April fell down and glided back to the top.

“Yea yea, whatever. You realize the food shortages lately!” Jane squawked really loudly. “We have nowhere to go, yet we need to eat!”

“Why do think we are shorting out so quickly?” April snarked.
