The Elf’s Lament

Every Christmas, worked to near exhaustion

Busy crafting toy airplanes and cute dollies,

All for those little naughty, ungrateful cretins

Tiny fingers cramping, aching, feeling almost broken

It would be so much easier to just put everyone on the Naughty List

And throw a lump of coal at them

Yeah, there's your wonderful present

Have a nice holiday now!

It would be so much better,

But Santa wants us to be charitable to those human fools

Can you believe it?

Ugh, looks like that daydream

Will have to remain just a dream for now

So, here's to another Christmas

Worked to the bone
