I stood embarrased and confused

Caressing the stretched skin that held the 3 month old human I had conceived mysteriously

A changed life

Adjusted ideals

Tides of thoughts crashing on my shore of anxiety

Sigh

A long hard thought of the human I was now responsible for overwhelmed the calmness I tried to exude

As the tears flowed

The cold from my bedroom windows brushed against my exposed body

I pulled the sheet over my head

Awake from the strangest dream I’d had this week.
