Goodbye is a hard thing to say

To someone you love

Who you may never see again

But it’s better

Than having them suddenly

Ripped away

To leave you filled with regret

Of things unsaid

Never again feel their warmth

Or hear them talk

Not even to read their words

Like a magic trick

Of the worst kind, they’re gone
