On the surface

It's smiles and laughs

But I keep the words to myself

On the surface

I can laugh in all the right places

But on the inside...

I keep cracks hidden where even you don't see

To keep a friendship together despite everything.

Beneath a bubble, well worn by time

I think of you as mine;

What we could be if you gave it a chance

But then its back to reality again...

A normal conversation between two friends
