I’ve never been to Mississippi

and I don’t think I’ll ever go.

It’s not like I have an opposition,

just no desire.

Life’s that way,

For a lot of things.

Like, for example,

when I saw you across the room,

fingers graceful and slim,

phone in one hand, coffee in

the other. I thought,

she's not bad,

and carried on with my day.

We might have been lovers:

a whirlwind romance,

a beautiful wedding, but,

eh.
