Challenge of the Week LXXXVIII
Persuasive Writing. Continuing on the success of last week's challenge, we tackle persuasive writing. You can write about anything you want, poetry or Prose, but you must be persuasive. Perhaps it's an essay. Perhaps a point of view. Perhaps an unpopular belief. Whatever it is, persuade us.

What’s the Greatest Story Ever Told?

Considering how dumb we are

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

We managed to write a pretty good story

probably the best one.

I mean. I mean.

the best story that anyone has

ever heard.

It starts like this.

Once upon a time, there was nothing, and then there was light.

….hold on…..

Once upon a time, there was nothing, and then there was a Big Bang.

…wait a sec…

Once upon a time, there was Chaos.

…no….that’s not…

Once upon a time, there was a big island surrounded by seawater.

Alright, so I don’t actually know

how the story started,

but those up there are

pretty interesting stories too

and they’ve got the right idea

because

once upon a time,

it started.

Don’t you want to hear

parts of it though?

Bits of the greatest story ever?

It’s endless!

Political dramas out the wazoo!

Crafty people doing crafty things.

Like that one part, where this triumvirate

flips a whole Republic to an Empire!

Flips it like a pancake!

Then there’s this lady who

pretty much conquers everything!

Romances, there’s romances too!

Swooning, blushing,

bodice-ripping romances!

Plenty of awkward, stilted,

stuttering declarations of love.

Lots of kissing, tons of weddings!

Star-crossed lover, enemies to friends.

Did you hear about the explorers?

Climbing every peak and mountain,

hiking through swamps, forests, deserts,

diving into lakes and creeks, and oceans!

They went into every nook and cranny!

They went cave-diving, they found monsters

and fossils, and ocean currents!

Some crazy guys went to space!

They found almost everything

and guess what?

There’s more to find!

Then there are so many

So so many chapters of

war.

Battles between everyone

On all sort of terrain

For all sorts of reasons!

The most violent acts

and the tragedy is everywhere.

The worst of the worst,

Giving rise to new horrors.

moaning spirits and crying souls

who just want to go home.

The horror, the tragedy, the angst!

It’s all there.

There’s comfort too.

Soft moments of sighing,

tea on a rainy day, napping,

animals of all kinds. Presents

given and accepted.

Families, tight-knit

and found.

There’s moments of electric

EUREKA!

Discoveries in late nights

And early morning.

Buried under sheets of notes and papers,

Groups working toward a common goal.

A woman with a microscope

in a basement,

on the banks of a smelly river.

Quiet moments of understanding as

the lock holding the secrets of the universe back

begins to tumble open faster and faster.

Adventure on the oceans,

flying high in planes and balloons,

natural wonders

natural disasters.

There’s art here, lots of art.

Art everywhere, made by

Everyone.

It’s all part of the greatest story; because

what story is complete without art?

There’s everything in this story.

Fancy uniforms, high fashion,

Drama and theater and opera!

All there!

Movies and movie stars

Stars and starlet.

Every single one is in this story.

That’s why it’s the greatest.

The BEST story ever told

It’s all there,

its already happened

it is history.
