Challenge
Me thinks this will be a hard one to do. If you had the chance to be face-to-face with God and could ask him any three questions of your choosing; what would they be? Answer them as you would think God would reply. In Interview form only. I will start it off (and remember, this is a "what if" challenge). So, don’t shoot the messenger. Tag me: @Danceinsilence
Interview form would be you asking, then God, responding. No limit on the amount of words, but keep it to just three questions ... and please, don't shoot the messenger (that's me) and don't forget to tag as you see this: @Danceinsilence (that's for any new people to Prose ... 8=)

If I, An Atheist, Were to Meet God And Ask Him 3 Questions : And His Responses

Question 1

Me: Are you as homophobic as these religious fanatics claim you are?

God: No. I find that statement completely ridiculous. I wish they’d cut that out and learn to love everyone. Besides, if they can accept me for who I am, they should be able to accept everyone’s sexual orientation. After all, I’m not called an all-loving god for nothing.

Me: Wait- are you...?

God: *Winks*

Question 2

Me: Do you feel comfortable knowing that there are those on this planet that are committing acts of violence, genocide, terrorism, and hate-mongering in your name?

God: No, I am not comfortable at all. Truthfully, I did not wish to be worshipped. I just want to be left alone and doing what I enjoy most, which is creating things.

Question 3

Me: Why don’t you put a stop it all? I mean, no offense, but are you just sitting on your ass the entire time? Do you even care? Is this part of your so-called plan?

God: ... I understand... Believe me, I do understand. I have heard people’s prayers. I have watched them build churches and temples in my honor. I have watched them shed blood and fight wars in my name. I tried being hands on once before. I ended up failing. The more that I tried changing their views, everything stayed the same. I realized that I wasn’t helping, I was enabling. The thing is, my creation, like any child, you can only do so much. You can show them what to do. Intervene if you have to. But sooner or later, you’re gonna have to take a step back and let them grow and learn on their own. They will fall, they will falter, they will stumble. But there are those that will rise. They will stand strong, and they are the ones that will help and defend those that cannot help or protect themselves. Your compassion for others is what makes your species so incredible.

Me: But it doesn’t seem like it has gotten better.

God: From where I stand, I think it has. Progression is a slow process. People won’t like it at first. Villainize it even. But then they start accepting it. Embrassing it. Not just for themselves alone, but for the sake of everyone around them. Blacks, Whites, Christians, Muslims, Hebrews, Satanists, Straights, Gays, police, politicians, you are all different on the outside and act different. Yet you are all still the same on the inside, no matter how much you try to divide and label yourselves. As for my plan, there is none. To have a pre-determined plan or a pre-determined destiny for each individual that is born takes away all sense of free will. You’re looking at the one who invented the phrase ‘Shit Happens’.
