Friendship Mural

There once was a young sassy wild girl I knew

her painted glowing eyes held glittering truths  

with lips holding a smile of pearls made like few

buttoned with pierced bobbles straight through  

She knew how to play and she knew how to rock

her everlasting patience a key to my trust lock

singing long into the night we had the same jam

never fall in love was the name of our band

Miles and chapters jutted between kindred hearts

never separating the love - best friends from the start  

she's a woman now grown, beautiful, and strong

with amazing kids of her own both coming a long

I'm so proud of you and the person you have become

I count those fifty promised years to the beat of a drum

my heart remains forever at play holding measure

watching her wild ones spread wings of angel feather  

She is my rock, my clock, my foundation block

the rap upon my future which our destinies knock
