Nobody Shot Me

Endued with not a soul, it is surely most fit

A love unrequited, a heart marred by it

Iniquities of the father fallen upon the son

Brazen enough to seek opportunity where there was none

Alabaster intentions so grossly misconstrued

Stillborn wishes never meant to come true

Copper elephants and an unpainted canvas

A hollow tune

Tears on the mattress

I will soon join the slain as was thy will

No, nobody shot me, but I lay dying still

So leave me in silence as I draw my last breath

The air is alive with the sound of my death
