What Was Has Passed - So Too Will What Is

I can take all the cliches life has offered;

all the woulda-shoulda-coulda's,

the I would if I could,

but I can't so I wont's,

roll them in a ball,

throw it all away

like yesterday's trash.

Even now,

if I'd have known,

in any year of life,

what I know now,

nothing would have changed.

Nothing would be rearranged.

All things that happen, happens.

the knowing only slows down

the inevitable.

Would it be nice to win a lottery,

or a bet on and win the Super Bowl?

You bet.

Life-long dreams realized,

but life still remains the same.

I am still the same me.

You still love,

those you love still die.

The Earth still spins.

As I was in birth,

I will be in death.
