Pure Joy

The more I listen to your words

The more overjoyed I become

The more I begin

To emerge myself in this life

I have so willingly joined

It’s so nice to be able to say

That I am happy

And mean it

I got used to lying about how I was

“I’m fine,”

I would say

It was never quite true

But now, I want everyone to know

I’m okay now!

Everything is fine!

I am happy!

It seems that I’ve achieved a goal

One that I thought I would be working towards

For the majority of my life

But no

I was wrong

I’ve never been so glad to be wrong

You just came into my life

So suddenly

I didn’t have time to comprehend

What you were doing

I don’t think you meant to make me fall in love

But you did

You fixed me

Put together all my broken parts

Without even trying

You improved my life

And now, I could forever be content

To listen to your words

To be with you

The more I listen to your words

The more I realize

I am home
