We laid there

big spoon to little spoon

you were holding me so tight

Your warm breathe on the back of my neck

My feet tucked between your knees

I tried not to speak

it had worked the night before

Willed the words to dissipate before they snuck out

I tried so hard to just drift off to asleep

I couldn't this time

It was different tonight

A deep breathe in a long breathe out

"Are you awake?"

Yes...

"Dont freak out ok...

...I think I love you"

I love you too....

No one moved

Nothing changed

You didn't stand up and walk away

My heart sped up and then back down

I'm sure you already knew

Like everything else with us never really any doubt

almost as if it had happened before

just like a natural course

I rolled over, kissed you

we closed our eyes

fell asleep in each others arms
