her butterflies

fluttered around

his beating heart

excitement flashed

in their eyes

flood of chemicals

released

tangled up

in chemistry

triggered

strong desire

to be there

for each other

stronger

by the day

he overwhelmed

by the sudden

life

metamorphosis

slowly spun

his cocoon

to insulate himself

from her savage affection

she ripped

his silky threads

trying to get in

he pushed her away

in the sweetest way

she persisted

but he gave in

he flew away

to the north part

of new world

spun his new cocoon

share no space

with someone else

left her stranded

with broken heart;

she tried to kill

the butterflies

with the remaining pieces

of her shattered world

but to no avail.
