Watchers

Giant marble statues, towering,

Looming, standing, glowering.

Symbols of protection for the good,

and poison for the evil.

Created eons past,

Strong enough to last.

Vines angrily reclaiming the land,

They watch the treasure they protected.

As all returns to dust

They watch the treasure rust.
