My friend lost her mother recently, and I want to be there for her, but how can I do so? Write a poem, short story, prose, etc. about being there for someone who lost someone dear to them. Tag me @justaperson

Being there for someone

The world was still

At least for her

And I watched her eyes

Black holes

With nothing inside

My throat felt dry

And my face stiff

I wanted to say something

But

there were no words left

So I sat there

And held her hand

I was there

When she wasn't even

There herself

Then I knew

All I had to do

Was remind her

That I wasn't going

To leave her too
