The Call of the Sea

Twilight, and the ocean breaks.

The waves revolt as dusk descends.

A melody beckons sailors hither

As the blood tinged sky does portend.

Night falls, and the ocean sings

As sailors heed her wanting call.

Adventures promised in haunting syllables

Holding sailors in deceptive enthrall.

Midnight, and the ocean rages

As sailors curse her waves, enslaved!

Her seductive, melodic lull enchanted,

Luring them blindly to their graves...
