LIGHTS IN THE ROAD

Lights shine through the rain as you wait to cross the side walk. You take a step forward as the man waves you forward. You wave back and cross the street. You turn to wave to him and stop, your mouth hanging open almost touching the ground. You wave at the guy hopping he will see you but he doesn't. His gaze was fixed in front of him, his eyes glassy. You look around and almost faint. The rain has stopped  falling and nothing at all is moving. The rain that was in midair was still, hanging as if the where about to fall. You touch one and your hand tingles and then stings. "Ouch!" you say . You start to run and then stop. The rain has started again and you wave at the guy in the car.

"It's only a dream," you say to yourself. Or is it?
