Look Out Below

Twilight,

And the ocean breaks

On the rocky cliff face

Beneath

My feet

Clinging to the dry ground,

The stronghold is collapsing

As the stinging salty spray reaches

My eyes

Reflecting back the full rising moon,

As the dark sea twists in pain

Longing for me to jump,

Submerge

My whole being in its embrace

Swirl into a blissful abyss

And let the pressure hold me down,

My soul

Captivated by the rhythmic roar

Craves the taste of brine and ice,

Sharp needle stabs of pain,

My mind,

Rebels, aches for release

From this wicked, twilight trance

That binds me in an eternal dance,

Tempting,

As the ocean breaks

On the rocky cliff face
