Sow To Reap

We fell in love and in each other we vowed

Till death do us part, well, that was a good start

I was and may be still am a wild and free soul

You are and will remain the tall mountain pole

I love an evening stroll and morning coffee

You chose a night at home and popcorn with toffee

I enjoy loud beats and the option to be an open book

You were always the guard behind the wall,would never allow any one to look

I love everything expressive including happy surprises

To you they were pointless and meaningless chances

I decided to lean a bit to your unknown new world

I thought despite the dirt on the way I'd still find gold

Alas, I forgot that expectations lead to disappointments

I was told that 'it is your duty', I obeyed unaware of the predicaments

Yet I want all those in this ship to learn and recognise

That it is always our choice to love and make them realise

It takes time for a farmer to enjoy the benefits from sow to reap

Only because of his patience and trust that sweet fruit was his to keep

Be the farmer dear girl, and though it takes persistence

Your land will look up and respect you for your undying persistence
