A Whale’s Lament

Mother Blue lost her baby whale

    let out an eerie keening wail

A travesty beneath the sea

    that many heard but few could see

Memory clings like ocean mist

    the little one is surely missed

For predator and prey did meet

    her little calf now dinner meat
