When you stand before me

I see only you

I see only you

I see

Only

them

What did we do ?

I see only

him

And you want to be honest but

Is his pain

Worth your clear conscience ?

Can you justify his suffering

With the truth

For he would not see the truth

For what it is

Spite would colour his mind

Twisting emotions and honesty

Like a drop of ink into a glass of milk

A cloud of

Dark blue penetrating the innocence

Of our moment's truth

Your eyes are deeper every time we meet

No longer mirrors, but darker paintings

Of stories and fragility

So that I may only see

You.
