I see you
For what you are
The rejection of logic
And proof
Of reason
And right
Of love
And mercy
The only commerce
Trafficked in money
And greed
And disregard for
Any
Outside the self
The hubris
Astounds
And enrages me
Yet within the halls
Of democracy
Lies sanity
And good
People who desire
To help
To build
To nourish
The foundations
Upon which we are based
They look toward a world
Only still in the
Imaginations of our young
And see beautiful
Possibilities
If only we will
Join together
And lead the way
