Challenge of the Week #55: Write a story of 200 words or more about a stranger. The most masterfully written piece, as voted and determined by the Prose team, will be crowned winner and receive $200. Quality beats quantity, always, but numbers make things easier for our judges, so share, share, share with friends, family, and connections. #ProseChallenge #getlit #itslit

Secret Crush

Sitting amongst the audience, I heard this voice for the first time.  Suddenly, a wave of quietness ran through the hall to hear the sound of his voice, mesmerizing and mellow. It was a college event but, I couldn't recognize the face. The lyrical voice and the  beautiful face hypnotized everyone. I came to know he had joined recently in one of the departments. I wished to see him again and tell him how beautifully he sang that day. And, I did see him again few days later but, I stood dumbfounded, did not utter a single word. He looked handsome. I had several such encounters with him. Days passed, months too, and now my college days are over and he still is a complete stranger. Few days back,  I gathered guts to send him a friend request on a social site. Yes, he accepted it. Never  been able to text him though, due to the fear that he may not reply. He remains a stranger. I wish I can tell him how much I like him and perhaps, fallen for him. I wish someday he texts me and there be an exchange of words. Waiting for the miraculous day!
