The Train Continues

The train went clanking,

Over the rickety tracks.

It goes around and around,

Over the allegedly rotting planks.

Pushed onto the train is a baby carriage.

With a baby and a cookie in hand.

The sunlight shine on him.

The train continues across the land.

Through the tunnel, in the darkness,

Races the train with all its passengers.

Sometimes there is a break in the darkness

From the light of light bulbs.

"Daddy's girl" was written on her shirt.

The young girl was startled by the dark.

Her heart pounded; Her mouth cried.

Oblivious to her cries, the train circled.

Shinning from the window is light.

Spotlighted is a woman in her early thirties.

With her blue hair, she shows her might.

To block the sun, she puts on her sunglasses.

The train stops.

The doors open.

Reluctantly a man with white hair,

Stands up from his seat.

Slowly walking to the door near.

Making his way to the light's heat.

The doors took awhile to close;

As if paying respect to the old man.

But as they must, the doors closed.

The train doesn't wait for any man.

The train continued clanking,

Over the rickety tracks.
